Kayla is the Head Roaster and Sensory Specialist at JAVA ROASTERS in Toronto, with over 15 years of experience in specialty coffee and two Cup Tasters Championship titles.
Sensory is at the heart of her work - and something she’s endlessly curious about. Her approach brings together sensory science and the exploration of flavour, aroma and perception, with a strong focus on sensory analysis, calibration and cup quality.
Over the years, Kayla has developed her own sensory methodology for teaching and training, helping people understand not only what they taste, but how they perceive and interpret what’s happening in the cup.
